Caring for the liver. Early screening and early relaxation

According to the statistics of the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1 million people die from liver diseases every year in the world. China is a “big liver disease country”, with a large number of people with various liver diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver, drug-induced liver disease, and autoimmune liver disease.

1. Chinese hepatitis situation

Viral hepatitis is one of the major causes of global disease burden and an important public health challenge in China. There are five main types of hepatitis virus, namely A, B (HBV), C (HCV), D and E. According to the data of “Chinese Journal of Cancer Research” in 2020, among the pathogenic factors of liver cancer in China, hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus infection are still the main reasons, accounting for 53.2% and 17% respectively. Chronic viral hepatitis causes about 380,000 deaths every year, mainly due to cirrhosis and liver cancer caused by hepatitis.

2. Clinical manifestations of hepatitis

Hepatitis A and E are mostly acute onset and generally have a good prognosis. The disease course of hepatitis B and C is complex, and can develop into cirrhosis or liver cancer after chronicity.

The clinical manifestations of various types of viral hepatitis are similar. The symptoms of acute hepatitis are mainly fatigue, loss of appetite, hepatomegaly, abnormal liver function, and jaundice in some cases. People with chronic infection may have mild symptoms or even no clinical symptoms.

3. How to prevent and treat hepatitis?

The transmission route and clinical course after infection of hepatitis caused by different viruses are different. Hepatitis A and E are gastrointestinal diseases that can be spread through contaminated hands, food or water. Hepatitis B, C and D are mainly transmitted from mother to child, sex and blood transfusion.

Therefore, viral hepatitis should be detected, diagnosed, isolated, reported, and treated as early as possible.

4. Solutions

Macro & Micro-Test has developed a series of detection kits for hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV). Our product provides an overall solution for the diagnosis, treatment monitoring and prognosis of viral hepatitis.

01

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA quantitative detection kit: It can evaluate the virus replication level of HBV infected patients. It is an important indicator for the selection of indications for antiviral therapy and the judgment of curative effect. During antiviral therapy, obtaining a sustained virological response can significantly control the progression of liver cirrhosis and reduce the risk of HCC.

Advantages: It can quantitatively detect the content of HBV DNA in serum, the minimum quantitative detection limit is 10IU/mL, and the minimum detection limit is 5IU/mL.

02

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) genotyping: Different genotypes of HBV have differences in epidemiology, virus variation, disease manifestations, and treatment responses. To a certain extent, it affects the HBeAg seroconversion rate, the severity of liver lesions, the incidence of liver cancer, etc., and also affects the clinical prognosis of HBV infection and the curative effect of antiviral drugs.

Advantages: 1 tube of reaction solution can be typed to detect types B, C, and D, and the minimum detection limit is 100IU/mL.

03

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA quantification: HCV RNA detection is the most reliable indicator of infectious and replicating virus. It is an important indicator showing the status of hepatitis C infection and the effect of treatment.

Advantages: It can quantitatively detect the content of HCV RNA in serum or plasma, the minimum quantitative detection limit is 100IU/mL, and the minimum detection limit is 50IU/mL.

04

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotyping: Due to the characteristics of HCV-RNA virus polymerase, its own gene is easily mutated, and its genotyping is closely related to the degree of liver damage and treatment effect.

Advantages: 1 tube of reaction solution can be used to type and detect types 1b, 2a, 3a, 3b, and 6a, and the minimum detection limit is 200IU/mL.
