Introduction

[Product Name]

Respiratory Syncytial Virus Antigen Detection Kit(Immunochromatography)

[Packaging Size]

1 test/kit, 20 tests/kit

[Intended Use]

This kit is used for the qualitative detection of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) fusion protein antigens in nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab specimens from neonates or children under 5 years of age [1]. RSV is a common cause of upper and lower respiratory tract infections and a major cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia in infants and young children. RSV outbreaks regularly in the fall, winter and spring of each year. Although RSV can cause significant respiratory disease in older children and adults, it is more moderate than in infants and young children. In order to obtain effective antibacterial therapy, the rapid identification and diagnosis of RSV is particularly important. Rapid identification can reduce hospital stay, antibiotic use, and hospitalization costs [2].

[Test Principles]

This kit uses the double-antibody sandwich method [3]. Respiratory syncytial virus antibody is coated at the detection line (T line) on the nitrocellulose membrane, goat-anti-mouse IgG is coated at the quality control line (C line), and the respiratory syncytial virus antibody complexes labeled with red tracer is coated on the glass cellulose membrane.

During detection, the sample reacts with pre-coated antibody complexes to form antigen-antibody complexes, which are then chromatographed forward by capillary action. If the sample contains RSV, the RSV antigen in the sample combines with the antibody complex to form an antigen-antibody complex, and the complex is chromatographed along the membrane band, a red band is formed at the T line, indicating that RSV is positive. If the sample does not contain RSV or the content of RSV is below LoD, there will be no color band at the T line, indicating the sample is negative. Regardless of whether the sample contains the substance to be tested or not, a red band should appear at the quality control line (C line), as the internal control for whether the chromatography process is normal and whether the reagent is invalid [4].
