The kit is suitable for the qualitative detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA), Acinetobacter baumannii (ABA), Klebsiella pneumoniae (KPN), Escherichia coli (ECO), Staphylococcus aureus (SA), Enterobacter cloacae (ENC), Staphylococcus epidermidis (STAE), Candida tropicalis (CTR), Candida krusei (CKR), Candida albicans (CA), Klebsiella oxytoca (KLO), Serratia marcescens (SMS), Proteus mirabilis (PM), Streptococcus pneumoniae (SP), Enterococcus faecalis (ENF), Enterococcus faecium (EFS), Candida parapsilosis (CPA), Candida glabrata (CG) and Group B Streptococci (GBS) nucleic acids in the whole blood samples.

Bloodstream infection (BSI) is one of the clinically severe infectious diseases. According to different symptoms, it can be divided into sepsis, sepsis and septic shock [1-3]. Bloodstream infection is caused by pathogenic bacteria invading the blood system, growing and multiplying in the blood, producing plenty of toxins and then causing acute systemic infection, with high morbidity and mortality. The common infection sources include bacteria and fungi. More than 1.8 million cases of severe Bloodstream infections occur globally every year. According to the multi-center epidemiological surveys in China, there are about 3.73 million cases of severe Bloodstream infections each year [4-6]. Moreover, Bloodstream infection progresses rapidly, with many critically ill patients and high fatality rate. According to the foreign epidemiological surveys, in the ICU, the fatality rate of Bloodstream infection has surpassed myocardial infarction as the main cause of death for non-cardiac patients. If complicated with septic shock at the same time, the fatality rate of Bloodstream infection can be as high as 80%. About 14,000 people die of Bloodstream infections and their complications every day in the world, and the fatality rate of Bloodstream infections in China is also as high as 48.7% [7].

This kit provides auxiliary means for the diagnosis of many common Bloodstream infection pathogens. The test results are only for the clinical reference, and the final diagnosis has to be closely combined with other clinical indicators for comprehensive analysis.

[Test Principles]

This kit uses 2 tubes of detection reagents to realize the detection of 19 types of Bloodstream infection pathogens, selects the conserved regions of each pathogen as the detection target genes separately, and designs specific downstream primers, probes (rProbe) containing RNA bases for each target nucleic acid sequence to be tested, adding Taq enzyme and RNaseH2 at the same time. In the PCR amplification process, the RNA base is cleaved by a special thermostable RNaseH2 enzyme, and under the action of Taq enzyme, a DNA double-stranded product with a fluorescent reporter group is formed. At the same time, the endogenous internal control quality control is introduced to avoid false negative in detection. By controlling the melting point Tm value of the fluorescent product of each target nucleic acid sequence to be tested, the multiple detection for common pathogens of Bloodstream infection is realized.

[Storage Conditions and Shelf-life]

Storage condition: This kit should be stored below -18°C away from light. The shelf life is 12 months. Avoid the repeated freezing and thawing (no more than 4 cycles). After opening, if it is stored at 2~8°C, please use within 1 week.
Shipping conditions: The kit can be stably stored for 7 days in a shipping box containing dry ice.
